Monthly Workshop with the MSU Meditation Club Sokuzan Bob Brown visited the MSU Union at Michigan State University in Lansing on Sunday, October 5, 2008. He conducted an introductory meditation workshop for the MSU Meditation Club and taught the "why and how" of meditation. Priscilla Hagerty drove and helped out. This was the second workshop Bob has done there this year. It was coordinated by MSU student Jake Aldrich. Bob will try to go there the first Sunday of each month to teach classes on Buddhism and meditation.
Those that attended the workshop included both beginners as well as some with experience in Buddhist meditation. Some were from the Lansing Area Mindfulness Community that meets at the Van Hanh Temple at 3015 S. Washington Street in Lansing. Carolyn White, the spiritual director of that group, said that they offer sitting and walking meditation and hold dharma discussions every Wednesday from 7:00pm-9:00pm. All are welcome to attend.
Please call or email with any questions about upcoming MSU Meditation Club workshops. They are open to everyone.
